When the Joint Strike Fighter arrives at MCAS Beaufort in 2014, the Lowcountry will be able to declare that it hosts the most technically advanced fighter jet in the world.

Lockheed Martin is leading the development of the F-35B Joint Strike Fighter program, and Northrop Grumman and BAE Systems are principal partners in the project.

The high-tech nature of the Joint Strike Fighter, its components and its programming platforms make the Lowcountry a natural location for many of the companies that will touch the F-35 program. The Lowcountry offers both proximity to MCAS Beaufort and an unmatched quality of life. Additionally, the Lowcountry benefits from being located within close proximity to several bases that will host the F-35 (Shaw Air Force Base, Eglin Air Force Base, MCAS Cherry Point and McEntire Joint National Guard Base.)

And with the Beaufort Commerce Park within a few miles of MCAS Beaufort, the Lowcountry has space for your business to grow.

The Lowcountry also has a highly qualified workforce that's ready to feed into the high-tech, DoD sector. Between a rotating pool of Marines coming out of MCAS Beaufort, access to thousands of former servicemen and women within a 50-mile radius and educational opportunities at USCB Beaufort, Technical College of the Lowcountry, Georgia Tech's Savannah campus and SCAD, the Lowcountry has the people you need.
