Jim Robinson, Okatie Village

James Y. Robinson is responsible for Planning, Architectural Design and Entitlement for projects identified and undertaken by Emerson Properties, Inc. He has over thirty five years experience in the field and over the years assembled successful residential developments in the two Carolinas.

Jim has been a senior principal with his own development company. He has over 35 years in the field of architecture, planning and entitlement having been Director of Design and Marketing for one of the one hundred largest A-E firms in the country, a senior principal of KRA, Inc and JYR Architect. During his career he has been active on a local, regional and national level in industry and civic groups, including the American Institute of Architects, United Way, Rotary and the Boy Scouts of America. In 2004 he was recognized by the Hilton Head -Bluffton Chamber of Commerce as the Citizen of the Year.

Jim holds three Architectural degrees, two from Tulane University and one from Rice University. He is a licensed architect in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Louisiana. He is also a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Jim authored articles and technical papers on early cost estimating, cost control and construction administration techniques.
