Dr. Thomas C. Leitzel - Technical College of the Lowcountry - Network Vice Chairman

Tom Leitzel assumed his position as president of the Technical College of the Lowcountry on September 1, 2008. He formerly served as Vice President at Pfeiffer University in Charlotte, N.C. In this role, he was responsible for providing senior-level administrative support to the Charlotte Campus for service to students and staff in the Schools of Graduate and Adult Studies. His primary duties involved supervising enrollment management efforts for 300 adult undergraduate students. Prior to joining Pfeiffer University, he served as the Dean of Business, Health and Technologies at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte.

Tom was born in Harrisburg, Penn. He received his B.A. in Business Administration from Lycoming College, an M.S. in Education from Temple University, and his Ph.D. in Community College Education from Virginia Tech. His 30-year academic career in the public and private sectors included service to institutions located in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina.
